System of transport statistics

This department is engaged in organization, collection, processing and publishing statistical departmental data for railway, public bus, inland waterway and aerial transport in adequate quality and in accordance with the relevant Czech and EC legislation. It also methodologically and technically supports sending of data for the Czech Republic to Eurostat, ECMT, UNEC/UNO and ICAO and preparation and publication of summaries of transport statistics for the needs of the Ministry of Transport, the Czech Statistical Office, international governmental bodies and organizations, as well as professionals and the general public in accordance with Act 106/1999 Coll., on free access to information.

Geographical information systems

This department provides continuous operation of the geographical information system of the Ministry of Transport – Uniform Transport Vector Map (GIS JDVM), for use in information systems managed by public administration bodies engaged in transport, and continuous development of the GIS JDVM, as the applicable Czech and EU legislation comes into force (especially in frame of implementation of the directive INSPIRE). It also develops activities to implement the obligation of the Ministry of Transport to publicize geographical data on transport infrastructure on the Portal of the Public Administration, under the Act No. 106/1999 Coll. on free access to information.

Standardization of electronic data interchange in transport

It is engaged in preparation of materials (literature searches, translations, opinions, proposals and other background documents) required to provide support for standardization and implementation of international standards for electronic data interchange UN/EDIFACTand XML in the sector of transport in the CR, and ensuring cooperation of the Czech Ministry of Transport with the Czech authority for facilitation of procedures in the international trade, transport and public administration FITPRO of the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Czech Standards Institute in the field of preparation and implementation of international standards for electronic data interchange and electronic trade in transport, and complete preparation and production of economic technical review Doprava (Transport).

Professional activity is focused on the following topics:

  • standardization of electronic data interchange,
  • DTP.
